Unity & Goblin Rollout

Here is a collection of video trailers associated with the early days of my course. Over the first couple months I learnt the basics of Unity and the C# coding language.

Using the skills I had learnt in these early assignments I was able to produce my first game I called Goblin Roll Out.

Goblin Roll Out is a short time trial racing game demo where you are a goblin in a glass ball trying to get a fast time around a track.

Featuring lap timers, mini maps, two difficulty levels and end race records.

Each race has the obstacles randomly placed so no two time trials are exactly the same. The second time trial has the obstacles moving and changing to up the difficulty.

Here is a trailer for the game. The game is available for you to play on my itch.io page, feel free to download it and give it a go.

After completing Goblin Roll Out I learnt more intermediate skills such as using terrain in Unity, the animator and animation blend trees, the post processing stack, saving information using player prefs, how to use the mouse pointer to interact with the game world and more.

Here is a short video of a play through of a scene I created during this part of my degree. To build this scene I also created a tool that placed all the different trees and foliage in the game world which greatly sped up the creation of the environment.
